Who are we?
We are simply one of the various Churches of God in Christ Jesus.
The Church of Gombe is located at 10, Avenue des Orangers, close to the cemetery of Gombe, in the Commune of Gombe, in the centre of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
On March 23, 2007, the Church, the law firm of the lawyer Theodore Ngoy, the Pastor of the Church and his residence were deliberately set alight by the soldiers of General John Numbi and President Joseph Kabila
This Church was born one Sunday in flat 4b Ubangi building, located on the “Boulevard du 30 Juin” in a part of the city named " Royale" in the commune of Gombe, as the result of a vision of Jesus-Christ, who wondered why nobody adored him.
Theodore Ngoy lived in this place then. He was civil servant in the Central Bank of Congo (ex Banque du Zaire). It was in 1992.
Theodore Ngoy was persistently lamenting before God the unexpected death of his father Augustin Ilunga wa Nsenga, on November 14, 1992.
One day, he saw the Lord Jesus-Christ in a vision during the night. The Lord raised his right shoulder. Then Theodore saw his father. He was a man who was neither young nor old but very beautiful and very happy. Then the Lord said: "I come every Sunday to this place but I find nobody to adore me".
The following Sunday Theodore Ngoy broke the bread with two people who had come to visit him, after hearing the powerful preaching of the Gospel: The Church of Gombe had been born.
On April 18, 1993, more than one hundred people were joined together for the anointing of the evangelist Theodore Ngoy as Pastor of the Church of Gombe. Congolese national television (Zairian at that time) reported this in its news bulletin of April 18, 1993 and those on following days.
The enemy then started a war against this new Church which people from all backgrounds were already attending.
The Lord led his Church to the " Palladium" buildings before installing it within the former Centre of International Business of Zaire (ex CCIZ).
The Church of Gombe remained there from November 1, 1994 to November 11, 2004.
The night of November 12th-13th was spent in prayer. It was the night the Church of Gombe established itself on the Avenue des Orangers
Today, this building lies in ruins after a deliberate fire.
Why was the Church maliciously burned down on March 23, 2006? Please see
